Joshua Adam Donaldson (born December 12, 1985, in Pensacola, Florida) is a Major League Baseball catcher and first baseman for the Oakland Athletics.
Donaldson was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 1st round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft out of Auburn University. He was involved in the trade that sent Rich Harden from the Oakland Athletics to the Cubs.[1]
Donaldson was called up to the majors for the first time on April 30, 2010.[2] He made his debut that night as a pinch hitter, and struck out.
On May 1, 2010, on the first pitch by Dana Eveland, Donaldson got his first major league hit -- a 2-run homer.
